StarKids in Cambodia

Your small change making a big change.

Cambodia isn’t just on the list of Jetstar’s destinations – it’s also one of several countries where the StarKids partnership is changing lives.

A team of Jetstar Australia staff including CEO David Hall got to see firsthand the impact your donations are making when they visited Cambodia with World Vision recently.

From visiting a maternal and child health program, to meeting members of a local savings group, the team were thrilled to say that ‘every cent is being well spent in this beautiful country’.

Gold Coast Cabin Crew member Irene Godfrey loved reading and leading sing-alongs with children at a primary school in Battambang Province. StarKids donated a rain water tank to the school so that the children could have access to safe, clean water.

“Being here has really made me experience so much in the lives of these children. They’re so loving and so caring and so openhearted to everybody – their smiles just make your day,” says Irene.

The team spent an afternoon working in the fields alongside members of an agricultural cooperative that is helping vulnerable families run their own business. Members are earning a better income, so they can invest more in their children’s education.

Seeing how StarKids donations are used was a real highlight for Melbourne-based Cabin Manager Colette Dunne. “It’s great to see how the small change our customers donate makes a big change here in the communities,” says Colette.
